Let our local guides take you on a 2 and half hour journey back in time walking through the cobbled streets of Plovdiv’s Old Town, The Ancient Roman TheaterKapana Creative District, The Roman Stadium, and the Longest Pedestrian Street in Europe. Join us and you will discover Plovdiv from the inside out.

Feel what it was like to live here 500, 1000, 5000 years ago and immerse yourself in a culture, that carries the traces and memories of many great civilizations that have come and go.

Plovdiv Guided Walking Tour begins and ends on the pedestrian street. Your tour guide will be available for questions and recommendations for interesting things to see, experience, good restaurants to eat in and around Plovdiv.

This tour is also available as a day tour to Plovdiv from Sofia. In case you are arriving from Sofia for the day by bus or train, we will meet you at the station. Plovdiv train station or bus station South are excellent starting points as you will see the Tobacco Town and Tsar Simeon's Garden on the way to Plovdiv's center where most of the tourist attractions are located.   • When? Where?  We can run this tour at your preferences, but from our experience, we recommend to begin at either 10:00 AM or 4:00 PM during the warmer months (May to September). Early afternoon in the summer, when the temperature usually raises above 30 C, is best enjoyed "aylyak style", we will tell you all about this Plovdiv-native philosophy of living and why it even puts the Spanish siesta to shame during our Plovdiv walking tour. 

  • The tour starts and ends at the pedestrian area. If you are arriving by train or bus we can meet you at the train/bus station and begin our Plovdiv walking experience from there. 

  • Duration:  About 2 and a half hours, 3 if we stop for refreshments along the way, There is a surprise free tasting included in your tour, something very unique and local. 

  • Difficulty: This tour is suitable for all ages. We've even had 65+ and families with young kids join us, however, you should bear in mind that we will do a bit of an uphill walk with some stair climbing. There will be no rush, and we will have plenty of stops to take in the beautiful revival architecture of Plovdiv Old Town. Please note that due to the uneven surfaces of the ancient streets, this tour is not recommended for people with walking disabilities or using a wheelchair.

  • Price:  Starting from EUR 19 (depends on the group size, please enquire through the form below) 

  • What to bring: Please wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking, a hat in the summer and an umbrella in case it’s raining. Carrying a bottle of water in the summer will help you enjoy our beautiful city more :)
